Research Director, Veterinary Epidemiologist
Véronique Chevalier is a veterinary epidemiologist at Cirad (ASTRE research unit) and Head of the One Health Group at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge. With over 20 years of experience in infectious disease epidemiology, she specialises in vector-borne diseases and their modelling: Rift Valley fever (RVF), Japanese encephalitis, West Nile fever and MERS-CoV. She has worked in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe, and has coordinated several research projects on these diseases. She has published more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and supervised around ten master’s and PhD students. She applies a One Health lens by systematically integrating vector dynamics into zoonotic risk analysis.
