Sukanta Chowdhury

Scientist and Team Lead for One Health Research Unit (OHRU), Infectious Diseases Division, ICDDRB (Bangladesh)

Sukanta Chowdhury is currently working as a Scientist and Team Lead for One Health Research Unit (OHRU), Infectious Diseases Division, ICDDRB (Bangladesh). Dr. Chowdhury is a veterinary epidemiologist having more than 14 years of research experience in emerging infections and One Health. Most of his research works focus on avian influenza, Nipah virus, anthrax, melioidosis, rabies, AMR, and One Health. Dr. Chowdhury received a PhD in veterinary epidemiology. Dr. Chowdhury serves as an Academic Editor of PLOS Global Public Health journal. He acts as a member of the WHO Guideline Development Group (GDG) for Traditional Food Markets. He has been awarded for MODRA Fellowship by Oxford University and Wellcome Trust in 2024-2025.

Sukanta is a member of the Science College of the Steering Committee.
