Researcher, Veterinary Socioepidemiologist
Sophie Molia is a veterinary socioepidemiologist at Cirad (ASTRE research unit), currently based in Australia. Holding a PhD in epidemiology from the Royal Veterinary College (University of London) and a specialisation diploma in tropical animal pathology from the University of Toulouse, she has over twenty years of professional experience in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of diseases at the interface between domestic animals, wildlife and humans in tropical countries, with a particular interest in emerging diseases and neglected tropical diseases. In 2022, she completed a Master in sociology of transitions to broaden her skills in interdisciplinary research.
