Research Engineer, Agrohydrologist
Laurent Ruiz is a Research Engineer at INRAE, affiliated with the UMR SAS unit (Rennes) and UMR G-EAU (Montpellier). As an agrohydrologist, his research focuses on the relationships between agricultural systems and water resources, at different spatial scales and in varied contexts — Brittany and southern India. He co-leads the Franco-Indian Cell for Water Sciences (CEFIRSE, IISc Bangalore), and develops participatory approaches to support the adaptation of irrigated agriculture to climate change. His work integrates integrated modelling of agro-hydrosystems, long-term observations and stakeholder engagement.
