Alexis Delabouglise - Central Africa

Researcher, Socio-economist of Animal Health

Alexis Delabouglise is a researcher at Cirad within the ASTRE research unit in Montpellier. Originally trained as a veterinarian, he specialises in the socio-economic dimensions of animal health management, endemic livestock diseases and emerging zoonoses. His work examines how farmer behaviour, food markets and value chain dynamics influence the introduction, spread and control of pathogens, particularly at the wildlife/hunting/livestock interface. He has conducted studies in Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia), Africa and Europe. Combining health geography, behavioural economics and epidemiology, he works to design disease control strategies that are both effective and socially acceptable.
