Senior Research Director, Animal Scientist
Jean-François Hocquette is Research Director of exceptional class at INRAE, within the Mixed Research Unit on Herbivores (UMRH) in Clermont-Ferrand. An agricultural engineer and PhD holder in endocrinology, he has worked since 1991 on muscle biology, genomics and consumer preferences in relation to beef quality. Author of more than 300 scientific articles, he is President of the French Association for Animal Science (AFZ) and Vice-President of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP). He also served as scientific advisor to the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) from 2012 to 2021.
