PREZODE is an initiative aiming to advance research, advocacy, and collaboration to prevent zoonosis, bringing together an international community.

THE ONE HEALTH APPROACH

PREZODE bases its framework on the One Health perspective, an integrated, unifying approach that recognizes the interdependence of human, animal, and ecosystem health.

AN INITIATIVE TO ENSURE PREVENTION

PREZODE efforts focus on preventing risk emergence at the source by co-designing risk reduction and early detection solutions with and for the local communities and actors.

OUR MEMBERS COMMUNITY

As of April 2026, the PREZODE community includes 288 members and 10 observers from scientific, academic, and associative sectors, encompassing the governments of 37 countries: Armenia, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chile, Congo, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominica, The Dominican Republic, El Salvador, France, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Laos, Lybia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, The Philippines, Senegal, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

FOCUS ON RAKUNO GAKUEN UNIVERSITY

Hokkaidō, the northernmost of Japan's main islands, is celebrated for its exceptional natural environment. It hosts Rakuno Gakuen University, which became a member of PREZODE in 2025 and gathers the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences alongside the School of Veterinary Medicine.
