PREZODE gathers a worldwide community of practice, involving research and academic institutes and universities, governments, decision-makers, civil society organizations, foundations, private companies, and other initiatives.
The PREZODE Initiative creates a network that facilitates and strengthens interactions among member organizations, which include existing and future initiatives, projects, and programs. As of January 2025, the PREZODE community includes over 250 members and observers from scientific, academic, and associative sectors, encompassing the governments of 29 countries.
Coordination and synergies
Through its community of practice, PREZODE improves coordination and synergies, and promotes the sharing of lessons learned and best practices. It strengthens and integrates knowledge, innovation, capacity building, and operational actions. PREZODE deploys academic research, cross-sectoral collaboration in the field, and the engagement of operational actors on the frontline of epidemics, considering both livestock and wildlife.
International cooperation
Members and collaborators of PREZODE endorse its core values, as stated in the Declaration of Intent. They are therefore committed to the initiative’s global goal: preventing the emergence of zoonotic diseases in complex socio-ecosystems through international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and guidance for public policies.
The Initiative reinforces its dynamics by enrolling new members, which enhances engagement and ensures efficient. The community of members is working together to develop the PREZODE Initiative through joint research programmes and operational activities designed to build synergies.
