This roundtable was included in frame of the discussions “Being real about the governance of early warning and response systems”, where the Paris Peace Forum presented a report entitled “People, politics and the governance of early warning and response for pandemics”, looking at the political conditions to identify early and respond to a health threat to avoid another pandemic.

Selection in the Scale-up programme

Thierry Lefrançois, one of PREZODE co-founders, gave a presentation of PREZODE to the Paris Peace Forum Scale Up Committee, which selected the initiative in the Scale-up project programme (SCUP). This selection offered PREZODE advice and recommendations to support advocacy, communication, and organizational development activities throughout activities during 2023.

This selection rewards the amazing work of the initiators. It reflects the trust of all members in the initiative. It demonstrates that research and prevention are crucial to detect zoonosis emergence, protect populations, and tackle pandemics, thus contributing to peace. It will benefit from dedicated and customized support for a full year.

Each year, the Paris Peace Forum selects ten projects among those showcased at the Forum for their strong development potential and concrete impact on global governance issues. Selected projects receive customized support from the Scale-up Committee, which includes mentoring by high-level personalities, peer learning, and consulting that aims to support their development and amplify their impact.
