Elena Arsevska

Science Focal Point

Dr. Elena Arsevska is a Researcher and Epidemiologist at CIRAD. As a PREZODE Science Focal Point, she specifically provides support to the Pillar Working Group 4.

Since 2020, she has been working as a researcher and epidemiologist at CIRAD, Montpellier, in the Unit ASTRE (Animals, Health, Territories, Risks, Ecosystems) on a range of health topics and data from qualitative to quantitative works using a One Health approach. She is working on epidemiological multiple source analysis for transboundary infectious diseases (such as PPR and FMD in Africa) to neglected infectious pathogens (such as RVF in Africa and Tularaemia in Europe) and cross-species zoonotic threats such as HPAI. Between 2020 and 2025, she coordinated the H2020 MOOD project (MOnitoring Outbreaks for Disease Surveillance in a Data Science Context).

Elena obtained her PhD in 2017 from the University of Paris XI, Faculty of Medicine. She worked on media monitoring and the design of the tool PADI-web Google News monitoring, as well as setting up the international epidemic intelligence team for the French Platform for Epidemiological Surveillance (Platform ESA) in France.
