A veterinary epidemiologist with strong expertise in animal health surveillance, biosecurity, risk analysis and epidemic preparedness and response, Dr. Daan Vink works as an Evaluative Epidemiologist at CIRAD. He brings his expertise to PREZODE as a Science Focal Point.
After graduating from Utrecht University, he worked in the field implementing disease control and surveillance programmes (VETAID Mozambique, 2000-2002), conducted academic research and training (University of Liverpool and Massey University EpiCentre, 2002-2012), and performed operational management of public sector animal health surveillance (Ministry for Primary Industries, New Zealand, 2013-2019). He has provided extensive technical support on consultancy basis, primarily across South Asia and Southeast Asia. Based at the Royal Veterinary College, UK, he managed the One Health Poultry Hub (2019-2024).
Daan joined Cirad in March 2024 as an evaluative epidemiologist.
