On November 21, 2024, PREZODE held its General Assembly in a hybrid format, offering the opportunity for GA delegates to participate both online and in person in Brussels, Belgium.
The key points that emerged from the meeting included the endorsement of 24 new members, the presentation of the PREZODE Endorsement scheme (a formal process to recognize projects, programs, and initiatives that align with PREZODE’s values and goals), and a session on the PREZODE proposal for the Pandemic Fund.
The GA meeting offered a general summary of the highlights from PREZODE’s various activities and programs, providing insights into the following areas: involvement in the Pandemic Agreement negotiations, participation in several high-level and regional events, activities of the PREZODE programs (PREACTs and PEPR PREZODE), advancement of the scientific framework through the activities of the Pilar Working Groups, and the workplan of the international PREZODE data Working Group.
A panel discussion on the topic of “How to move from a pathogen-centric approach to a risk-centric approach” in addressing disease prevention offered valuable insights into this paradigm shift.
