Researcher in Qualitative Epidemiology & Health Systems Management — AfriCam Senegal Coordinator
Jean-Hugues Caffin is a researcher at Cirad (ASTRE research unit), based in Dakar, Senegal, where he has coordinated the AfriCam project in Senegal since November 2022. Holding a PhD in Management Sciences with a specialisation in health systems management in Africa, he works on the establishment of integrated surveillance systems for the early detection of zoonoses within a One Health framework. In the context of AfriCam — the first multi-country project under the PREACTS initiative (funded by AFD) — he coordinates activities in the Saint-Louis and Kédougou regions, in close collaboration with veterinary services, human health services, local communities and institutional partners. He serves as the PREZODE focal point for West Africa.
