One Health Policy to Practice: Charting the Future of Disease Prevention<\/strong>, National Implementation, Best Practices, and Policy Recommendations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This roundtable discussion will bring together government representatives from different regions of the world to share learnings, best practices, and scalable examples in One Health strategy development and implementation. The event aims to move beyond conceptual discussions, with experience sharing, and lessons learned from countries implementing One Health strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the expected outcomes: A set of concrete recommendations for effective One Health implementation at national and regional levels; Identification of scalable models and best practices for cross-sectoral collaboration; Strengthened international collaboration and multilateral networks among One Health stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chaired by Wanda Markotter,<\/strong> OHHLEP, University of Pretoria, the panel will bring together high-level country representatives: Matthias Sauer<\/strong>, Germany; Outi Kuivasniemi<\/strong>, Finland; Umair Khalid<\/strong>, Pakistan, Clarisse Paolini, <\/strong>France, along with high-level experts, including Andrea Winkler<\/strong>, Lancet One Health Commission, and Magda Robalo<\/strong>, Institute for Global Health and Development, and high-level representatives of International Organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This session<\/strong> is co-hosted with the German Ministry of Health and the German Interministerial Network for One Health<\/a><\/strong>. It aims to demonstrate the importance and benefits of prevention strategies addressing the root causes of health threats, including global pandemics at the human-animal-environment interface, challenges and opportunities of One Health operationalisation, the evolution of One Health governance and the growing importance and benefits of multi-sectoral collaboration. It will highlight how indispensable improving animal welfare and environmental protection via the One Health<\/strong><\/u><\/a> approach (as defined by the One Health High-level Expert Panel) are to protecting human health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
